We are an 18+ environment with proof of ID, meaning no minors- even with parent permission, are allowed inside East Bound Tattoo. All clients will be asked to fill out an intake and consent form alongside providing their picture ID. When you arrive for your tattoo, please have proper footwear and attire for your appointment.
We ask that you limit guests to one buddy during your session, as we have limited space and aim to prioritize the comfort of our clients. There are plenty of fun shops and restaurants in the area we are happy to recommend, should your friends need something to do during your tattoo session.
✵ Our Policies ✵
How to Book with Us
To book with our artists, please reach out to them via their preferred methods of contact listed on their artists page. While we primarily operate by appointment only, please feel free to call for walk in availability at (207) 373-9040.
Deposits
Deposits are required to book an appointment unless otherwise specified with your artist. Deposits are non refundable, and cannot be transferred to another person should you decide to cancel your appointment. We ask that you give 48 hours notice prior to rescheduling your appointment, and after two reschedules we will ask for an additional deposit. Deposit amounts vary based by artist, and come off the final price of the tattoo. Once a deposit is received, your tattoo appointment will be scheduled. Should you no-call no-show your artist for a scheduled appointment, you will not be booked for another one, or be refunded your deposit.
Preparing for your Appointment:
When preparing for your tattoo appointment, we ask that you arrive to your session well hydrated and having eaten something recently. Prior to your tattoo, exfoliating and moisturizing the area of skin you plan on getting tattooed is recommended for the health of your skin and easier healing. We ask that you arrive 10 minutes early for your session to fill out the necessary intake forms. Should you arrive to your appointment intoxicated or under the use of any mind altering substances, we will not be able to tattoo you. Arriving to your tattoo with a sunburn on the desired area for your tattoo will also require a reschedule date. Arriving more than 30 minutes late without notice for your appointment will cost an additional $50 late fee, or will require your appointment to be rescheduled.
Please be mindful of booking your tattoo around any significant events that will compromise the healing of your tattoo. Ie: medical procedures, exposure to sun, beach trips, swimming, or sporting events where your tattoo might become infected/damaged. If you are concerned about an upcoming trip or procedure near your tattoo date, please reach out to your artist with any questions.
-
Wash your tattoo twice daily for 2 weeks with warm soapy water. Dial gold, or unscented Dr. Bronners is our recommended soap to wash with.
Pat your tattoo dry with paper towels, as opposed to cloth or fibrous towels that may contain skin irritating bacteria.
Wear clean clothing and ensure everything that comes into contact with your tattoo be clean. Think sheets, towels, jackets, socks etc.
Refrain from going to the gym or exercising for 5 days after your tattoo. Strain on the muscles and sweaty activities will prolong the healing of your tattoo.
Apply a thin layer of lotion on your tattoo after the first 5 days of healing. Lubriderm, and Aveeno unscented are recommended. Products like A+D and Vaseline are excellent for moisturizing the skin, but contain an amount of glycerine that will clog pores and can even make your tattoo appear lighter over time.
-
Keep the bandage on for more than 3 hours after the tattoo or sleep with a bandage on overnight.
Drink alcohol directly after getting tattooed. This can cause for prolonged bleeding and swelling.
Workout or participate in strenuous activity for 5 days after being tattooed.
Take a bath, or go in a hot tub, pool, ocean, lake for 2 weeks after your tattoo.
Shave your tattoo before all of the scabbing is gone and the tattoo is settled into the skin. Typically 2 weeks
Wear tight restrictive clothing over your fresh tattoo for the first 10 days. Particularly leggings or moisture wicking fabrics that don’t allow the skin to breathe.
Go on antibiotics with a fresh tattoo. Even simple sinus infection antibodies can prolong the healing time for your tattoo, and can attack the ink as it would attack a virus.
Prolonged sun exposure either outside or in a tanning salon will damage your tattoo permanently. Please refrain from sun exposure for at least 2 weeks after your tattoo, and then apply sunscreen to your tattoo after it is fully healed and settled into the skin.
✵ Caring For Your Tattoo ✵

It is worth noting that once you step foot out of the studio, you are responsible for the healing and longevity of your tattoo. The outcome of your tattoo depends on how you care for it. Should your tattoo need to be touched up over time, reach out to your artist to discuss options. Should you damage your tattoo to the point where your tattoo needs to be redone, you will be expected to pay the full hourly rate for your tattoo to be reworked. Touch up policies vary from artist to artist.
